LO4: Evaluate how the technical and auditory qualities meet the identified purpose

Our radio trail meets our purpose of entertaining but also advertising our full radio show to our intended target audience. This meets the purpose as it explores what is going to happen in our full radio show, with the use of creating a script and a full audio trail for our target audience to watch which will portray what they are to expect when they tune in.

We also went through the editing stage which helped us for our evaluation as using Adobe Audition to edit our dialogue and inserting background music which we gathered of royalty free music websites helped produce our audio trail to suit the target audience and meet the identified purpose to market our radio show but also to entertain.

The dialogue throughout our radio trail was also short and got to the point of what will feature in the radio show, this is good to have when making a trail as the audience might get bored of listening, also with the use of swapping between voice actors allowed the audience to not get bored when listening.

To improve we would add dialogue on that our radio show is local, this is one of the responses we got from feedback from our intended target audience. Although we didn't act upon the feedback as we thought it would show codes and conventions of being a local show when they listen to the full show.  Although, it would be good to have added this in to our audio trail to improve as it may make the target audience tune in knowing that it is local based.

LO4: Record the different sound elements

This shows Evie and Hannah the voice actors reading the dialogue from the script into the microphone. as it shows us following the script to produce our audio trail. There is also a pop filter over the microphone which makes our voices sound more clear and is used in the professional industry. There is also a shock mounter and microphone holder- this is helpful to use as it allows the microphone to stay still and won't have any unwanted wispy sounds in which could make the radio trail sound different. We also sat inform too a sound proof mini booth which is a smaller version of which they use in radio stations, this is to block out any unwanted soundthereforemaking it soundproof

This is a photograph of Shauna editing the audio as we go along recording it- she edits it through Garage band in which we then exported it on to Adobe Audition after finishing it. It shows her controlling the Mac book and using the settings on Garage band to get our audio on to a document.

Here is a photograph of Evie altering the microphone stand and adjusting it to be within our height when recording our dialogue into the microphone. It shows the pop filter, microphone stand, shock mounters and a sound proof mini sound booth which are all commonly used in radio and shows the conventions of producing a radio trail.

This is a photograph of Shauna adjusting the sound, as her job was editing the audio as we talked into the microphone. She made sure it wasn't too loud for recording as this wouldn't be professional

LO4: Present the soundtrack and record feedback

https://youtu.be/A7MSrVFYUeQ

This our final trail for our radio show ONE20FM, in which we gathered feedback from our intended audience and recorded it below. We also evaluated the feedback, which was helpful in seeing what we could do to improve to make it more interesting for our audience.

LO4: Carry out post production edits to the soundtrack

Here is our Garage band clips in which we recorded our audio trail, this was done via garage band as it was the easiest to record straight on to and easy to export to put it into Adobe Audition. it shows the jingles, male voice and female voice. In which we changed it to female voice and jingles this was so it enhanced the quality of our voices to sound more approtita not a female voice.

After recording our audio on Garage band we exported it and put it into Adobe Audition which is where can edit all our sounds etc easier. We edited our audio trail through Adobe Audition, this is where we imported our clips into a file on track one which was all the audio talking for our trail, and in track two this is where we have our background music. We had our two files on our screen which shows that we can edit them simaltanously.

Here we changed our track one audio talking to dialogue, this was because it was easier to edit the it does for having it on the music section.

We started edited our our dialogue in which this is where we enhanced the speech, we enhanced the speech to 10 and changed it to female. This was so it sounded of a better quality and which they do in the professional industry- showing that we follow conventions of of radio.

We also changed our dialogues clip volume, we altered this to 5.4dB this was so it wasn't too loud but lod enough to hear over the music. Having it not too loud is what they do in the professional industry as you should be able to here any dialogue over the music but not too loud that you can't hear the music.

This shows the view from the wave form of the audio, it shows that we follow codes and conventions of producing a radio show and audio trail where we show the audio waves and you can see where it is of a higher and lower pitch.

Simarily this is the wave form for the music which we are using an incidental music in the background of our audio trail, this is to make it sound more interesting for the audience than just people talking. The wave form shows the signal what is passing through from the music we used.

This was our clip volume in which we altered for our background music. As you can see the decimals are a lot lower than they are for our dialogue as we don't want the music too loud and is changed to 0.2dB, it is visible to hear for our audience but not too loud.

LO4: Evaluate feedback

After creating our radio trail we created a survey which was to be sent to our intended target audience, we created two questions which would have quantities and qualitative feedback. Achieving useful feedback is good as we can have a sense of what our target audience enjoy and what they dislike which can then be acted upon before producing the final piece.

From the responses of one of our questions which we asked what would you rate this video we got an average of around 80 our of a hundred. From this I can conclude that our intended target audience enjoyed the promo however they could be some changes to be made to make it 10 out of 10, although there was suggestion to improve on this question.

However, our final question for our audience was asking them what they would change about this promo, this was a good question to ask as we can act upon their feedback therefore making it of a higher rating. Some of the answers we got was to have more information of what features in our radio show, this was acted upon as we added extra audio featuring about competitions  and celeb gossip which is featured, this will make it more interesting for our audience to listen to and excited to tune in to the full radio show. We also had feedback of adding that it is a local based radio station, this informs our audience as not everyone knows if it local based, however through listening to the radio show it would show codes and conventions of a local show, so therefore this was the only feedback which we didn't act upon.
